Sattam Oru Vilaiyaattu (English: Law is a game) is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language actioncrime film, directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar and produced by Shoba Chandrasekhar. The film stars Vijayakanth, Radha and Ravichandran in lead roles. The film had musical score by M. S. Viswanathan.[1][2] The movie was a Hit.
Plot[edit]
As a boy Raja (Vijay), he saw his mother (Srividya) and younger brother murdered. He saw too that his police inspector father DCP Needhi Manikkam (Ravichandran) was powerless to get the murderer convicted as there was no evidence.
As a young man under the name of Vijay (Vijayakanth), he gets even with the criminal Mathappu Sundaram (Senthamarai) killing each one of his three sons. One under water, the second from a mountain peak, the third murder is made to look as it were an accident with the car carrying the victim hurtling off the peak. Until he gets to the villain himself in as amber and goonda as made up as dolls.

Release[edit]
Sattam Oru Vilayattu got released on 21 October 1987 alongside another Vijayakanth film Uzhavan Magan. However, both films went on to become super hits at the box office.[5]The Indian Express wrote 'The screenplay is utterly contrived and there is nothing new either in M. Karunanidhi's dialogues [..] or S. A. Chandrasekhar's treatment which is as hackneyed as ever'.[6].and faced heavy competition from Nayakan, Manithan, Uzhavan Magan and emerged hit film.

Thaman Kumar was signed up for a film titled London Maappillai in 2011 but the film failed to finish production, and thus his first release became the thriller Aachariyangal (2012). He replaced Vikram Prabhu in Sneha Britto's Sattam Oru Iruttarai after a successful audition and featured in the lead role opposite Bindu Madhavi and Piaa Bajpai. The film, a remake of the yesteryear film of the same name, released with little publicity and failed at the box office, with a critic noting 'Thaman Kumar showed signs of confidence'.[1] He will be next seen in Summa Nachunu Irukku (2013) alongside Vibha Natarajan. His upcoming films include Sethu Bhoomi with Samskruthy Shenoy and a film with Dileepan and Srushti Dange.[2][3][4]
