Select the region in the track, position the cursor at the insertion point and press the key combination ⌘T. Drag the right half of the region to the right to make space for the region you want to insert. Trim the region you want to insert and cut off the silence at both ends, then drag it into the gap in the narration track. After launching Garage Band, you will be prompted with this menu. You will want to select 'Empty Project' and then click the 'Choose' in the bottom right corner of the menu. If you have a previous project appear after launching GarageBand, you can got to File New (or ⌘N) to bring up this prompt screen. Cut and paste regions in GarageBand on Mac You can cut or copy regions in the Tracks area, and paste them at a different position. You can also paste a copied region at the same time position, to quickly double the region for use on another track.
You can quantize all MIDI Regions in your Project at once:
- Select all the Regions (Key Command command+A in the Main Window)
- Open the Piano Roll Editor (Key Command E)
- In the Inspector on the left select a Quantize value in the Time Quantize popup menu.
- All the Regions are now quantized to that value

Secondly, how i determine what goes on in a particular section of the song?? Like i want something else to play say 3mins into the song, you know, kinda like a hook or something like that?? Cos so far its pretty much copy paste thing.😕
This is a very generic question and I'm not sure you understand the basic concepts of Regions along a Timeline.
- If you want to play/record something at 3 min, put the Playhead there and record something or copy new Regions to that place.
- If you have other Regions at that place , select them and move them to the right (later) along those Tracks.
Hope that helps
